Affodable hotels in Dumaguete City and what to do for 7 days

I am visiting Dumaguete City for a week in March 2009. I would appreciate what are the various hotels I can consider staying and what their room rates would be for two people. My budget is $20.00 to $25.00 for an a/c room for two.

Information on their web site and email would be appreciated.

Thank you.

I%26#39;m not sure of the exchange rate, but we stayed at Coco Grande Hotel last October and loved it. Lovely decor, friendly staff and good food for around P1000 per night.

You can visit nearby Apo Island for diving or snorkeling and Siquijor Island is less than an hour away.

Siquijor? Is this not a dangerous voodoo place?

Friends stayed some time ago at Casa Demonteverde.

%26lt;The room-rates at Casa Demonteverde are 350 Peso per night for single occupancy and 500 Peso for double occupancy. Monthly rates are available at PHP 6.000/single and PHP 7.500 double.%26gt;

May I get more suggestions on what to do for a one week stay?

Including travel to nearby places/provinces.

MountOlympus, are you actually serious?

Siquijor is a beautiful place. Check out Coco Grove Resort.

For diving or snorkeling expeditions to Apo Island, contact Mike Feeney of the Adventure Dive Shop, located on the boulevard, or see www.adventurediveshop.com.

And check out the nightlife at the Hayahay Bar and resto, a semi-open air place which is also located on the boulevard. Fantastic seafood and live music.

I%26#39;m not sure if you are interested in tours but if you check out Dumaguete Outdoors you will find a list of their tours. They offer dolphin spotting, Lake visits, caving, canyoning and mountain climbing. You can book activities online if you want to have something set up before you arrive. I have not been there but there is a large farmer%26#39;s market at Maluay every Wednesday - you could catch a bus to visit it. Hope this helps!

Good info here.

Any other suggestons on what to do?
