land %26amp; boat trip-how much?

1. it%26#39;s just a few minutes on foot from the Caticlan airport to the boat station . but on a tricycle that they insist can only accommodate 4 people, they will charge you PhP40.

2. they will charge you Php 89.50 each. You pay the boat and port fees(PhP 39.50) in one window and the PhP 50 ';environmental fee'; in another window.

3. The boat will go to boat stations 3, then station 2, then station 1.

You will only need a tricycle ride when you leave to take you to the jetty port.

While it%26#39;s convenient and reassuring to have someone pick you up at the airport, it is very easy to go to Boracay on your own. There are plenty of signs and lots of people who will help you . My family went there for the first time 2 weeks ago and we managed to get to our resort by ourselves without any problems.

The boat may arrive at Cagban Jetty Port, in which case you%26#39;ll have to take a trike to station 2 from there.

Are those fees each way? I think resorts charge about 440 pesos for trasfer.

Here are our expenses when we went there last weekend:

Caticlan to Boracay island

1. P19.50 - boat fare

2. P20 - terminal fee

3. P50 - environmental fee (20% discount is given to senior citizens and students - just them your ID)

Thats total of around P90. They will drop you off in any station just tell the boat person.

Boracay Island to Caticlan

Since we stayed in station 3, you have to take a trike to Cagban Port because this is where the boats pick up passenders to Caticlan Island. They don%26#39;t pick up in boat stations anymore, just one way drop off.

1. P75 - per trike (not per person) from station 3 to Cagban Port

2. P20 - terminal fee Cagban Port

3. P19.50 - boat fare, day trip (cutoff is 05:45pm)

P 30 - boat fare, night trip

4. P20 - terminal fee Caticlan Port if you will be taking a ship back to Manila

The terminal fee from Caticlan to Boracay for non-Aklan residents was increased from 20 pesos to 40 pesos a few weeks back.

I was just there last week and it was still 20 pesos for non-aklan residents. Though in the cashier they were asking for 40 pesos because of the 20 pesos terminal fee which is also paid on the same window. Maybe thats the 40 pesos you were saying

Thanks, Jenn. Looks like half the price of resort transfer fee - I guess convinience has it costs but savings would quickly add up if party is more than just a couple.

It was a chaos that Labor Day Weekend, I can%26#39;t remember much of the cost in detail. What I remember is there were a lot of people involved in carrying our luggage. You are not really obligated to give tips but our bags were so heavy I felt that it was just fair to give them something. Unfortunately, the transfers were set up in such a way that your bags are handed to quite a few people that by the time you get to Boracay it felt like you%26#39;ve spent so much just on tips alone. So my advise is, make sure to carry a bag that you can handle on your own, you dont really need a lot of stuff when you%26#39;re in Boracay. Since we were traveling from the states we had a lot of things to carry around and it really cost us.You will be surprised at the number of ';staging areas'; that were set up to get from one place to another. It is not inexpensive to visit the Philippines, you can find a place in Honolulu for the same price or may be less.

Its not much hassle in the caticlan port (riding jetty boat to boracay island) if its not holiday season... we are 13 in our group and we got no trouble in the caticlan port. We just asked our hotel to meet us in the boat station. Just make sure u pack light! dont bring too much clothes you can just wash or even buy sando and tshirt in the Talipapa... its not expensive... ranges from 75 to 200 pesos.

But if your hotel is not in the beach front and requires you to take a trike then its better to let the hotel arrange it for you to save you from the hassles
