Lively, young hotels/resorts in Boracay

Greetings!

A couple of us are heading to Boracay in early May and are looking for a hotel or resort that has a lot of action. We%26#39;re looking for proximity to nightlife, busy pool during the day, younger crowd, etc.

Budget isn%26#39;t a huge issue but we%26#39;d, obviously, rather pay less than more. :)

Please let me know if you have any recommendations, thanks!

Actually most hotels do not themselves have a lively nightlife scene in-house, and not that many have pools as most people seem to prefer the beach. Those that do have pools are often the more family oriented places. The fun starts when you go out.

If you pick a place at either boat station 1 or 2 (or anywhere in between) you%26#39;ll be in close proximity to the nightlife. See the map at www.myboracayguide.com to choose a place based on price and location.

Thanks very much! Yeah, really more looking to avoid the family scene and stay at a hotel with mostly people in their 20%26#39;s.

Dbagg6.....Most Boracay hotels/resorts got mixtures of young and not so young. It%26#39;s hard to choose a particular place that caters only to the so called young un%26#39;s...unless you stay at those ';back packers'; hotels, then I%26#39;m quite sure you%26#39;ll find plenty of the younger crowds in their 20%26#39;s.

Boracay resorts/hotels with pools, does%26#39;nt have pool activites during the day like the resorts places in Mexico(Cancun, Puerto Valarta, Cabo San Lucas, etc.)where they have a daily set activities in the pool area. In Boracay, all you%26#39;ll get are piped-in music.

Also the resorts here does not have a daily ';Theme Nights';for their guests to enjoy. It%26#39;s up to you to find the ';action';, which you%26#39;ll find in places like bars(which are tons of them)where you can mingle and get to know the people around you. You can also go bar hopping until you find the place where the younger crowd gathers. Also, the other way to meet people of your age, is to go to the beach and join some activities there like beach volleyball, etc.

Check out BEACHCOMBER RESORT in Station 1. I%26#39;ve stayed at this place and will highly recommend it. It%26#39;s just across the road from the beach and has a pool and also a private lounge area for their guests right on the beach. Across their resort is a Chill Out Bar, Scuba rental,Chicken Barbecue stall and a Mexican resto. It%26#39;s just a 11- room hotel, but the service is fantastic! Also the rates are very affordable(with complimentary breakfast). The nice thing is...it%26#39;s only steps away from popular bars like Club Paraw, Cocomangas, Guillys and Ariel%26#39;s House!

Just to throw some more names out there, look up some info on Chez de Paris, Crystal Sand, Le Soleil, Hotel Mandarin, Boracay Beach Resort and Zuzuni - all convenient for nightlife.

You all have been a great help! I really appreciate you taking the time.

One more question: Is it %26#39;safe%26#39; to just show up in Boracay without a reservation? My understanding, based on these boards, is you tend to overpay when booking online. I%26#39;ll be there from May 4th to May 8th, for a time point of reference. And by safe, I mean I don%26#39;t want to get stuck with little or no options for a place to stay.

Thanks again!
