tour package of puerto pension....

Hi, can anyone tell me if the package tours offering by puerto pension is kinda worth it to spend...or do you suggest we%26#39;ll just have our own itenerary? My family will visit palawan on July 20 - 23, is it rainy during these days? Pls. give me some idea how much would it cost if we will not go for tour packages. How much is the cost for underground river tour, honda bay, island hopping tour and city tour.

thanks a lot.....

3 days is a very short time to spend on such a beautiful island as Palawan. It is a big Island and getting around does take time.

Yes it is likely to be raining occasionally during July but probably not so much.

Personally, I would very much set my own itinerary, definitely you need at least a full day at Sabang/underground river, and if you could overnight there, there is plenty to do, the monkey trial, wildlife and beaches. If you want to save money you can get there and back by jeepney/public transport rather than your guesthouse minibus Jeep is P160 each way, plus P150 to enter the underground river/National Park.

There are also plenty of options on Honda Bay tours, it%26#39;s easy to rent your own boat for the day, especially if your a family, price is often negotiable depending on the duration, number of stops, and of course number of passengers.

Personaly I don%26#39;t rate the city tour, and if you are short time this is readily missable.

If you had a little more time and want to experience the real Palawan, then go north from Sabang to Port Barton and El Nido, for beautiful beaches and stunning scenery.

hi sansai! you seem to know a lot about palawan... we%26#39;r going to busuang from PPC on october via sea air. would you know if there%26#39;s public transport available that would take us from busuanga to el nido?

If your flying Sea air from Puerto, then you will land in El Nido as a transit stop on the way to Busuanga.

Better to stop over in El Nido on the way to Busuanga, as there is no RELIABLE ferry service back to El Nido,.

There are OCCASIONAL boats, but October is the rainy season, so passengers will be few and far between, and boat trips can often be cancelled due to bad weather at sea.

thanks for your reply. anyway, i was able to check on the flight sched of sea air to and from busuanga, and unfortunately they have verryyy limited flights. we opted not to go to busuanga anymore and stay in el nido longer instead. thanks anyway!

Sansai, I like your comment on the question. I have a question myself, I%26#39;ll be going to Puerta Princesa on Feb 22 till the 25th. We plan to go to Honda bay on the 23rd, then stay over night there since it%26#39;s half way to Sabang, where we plan to go on the 24th for the whole day in the underwater river tour. Do you think it%26#39;s a good idea? I don%26#39;t know if people stay in pension houses in Honda Bay. Also, if there are Pensions there, is there a minibus that will take us to Sabang the following morning? What do you think?

Thanks! YOur comments are highly appreciated:)

Hi Sbol,

Most of the islands in Honda Bay do not have facilities for overnight accommodation. Id suggest that you go to honday early in the morning then go back to PPC late in the afternoon since its just around 20 - 30 minutes from PPC (via tricycle). You can go to Sabang early the next day via hired van or public transport. Id suggest that you go to sabang via van since the rough road can be verrryyy uncomfortable. There are cheap accommodations in sabang if you wish to stay there for the night or you can go back to PPC at around 4pm. Btw, dont forget to stop by Vietville on your way back to PPC from Sabang.

Here%26#39;s the number of the van we hired in going to Sabang 7am to 7pm 4,000Php 09178154897

Hope this helps! Goodluck!

Hi! Our group will be at Puerto Princesa on the 23rd to the 25th of this month. We%26#39;re working on tight budget so we%26#39;re considering Lola Itang%26#39;s. Hope to hear comments if the place is ok or not.

hi arcieblue!

you might want to try pagdayon inn. its location is very convenient coz its near most of the popular restos and bars and even the airport. their room rates are quite cheap too @ 300Php per person per night. you mentioned that you%26#39;re goin there as a group and you might need transpo to go around PPC. wev rented a van to take us to the sights in PPC, their number is 09178154897.

ciao!

Hi there, watersofmarch. Thanks for accommodating my queries. About the van you mentioned that would take us around PPC, is renting a van better than availing of tour packages from the inns/pension houses?

And can you help me with the contact details of Pagdayon Inn? I can%26#39;t seem to find their website, maybe there%26#39;s none yet.

Thanks a lot for your help!!!

hi arcieblue,

just text this number 09178154897. he%26#39;s the van owner and he arranged everything for us when we were there. he%26#39;s also the one who suggested pagdayon inn to us coz he%26#39;s frineds with the manager. its a LOT cheaper if you create ur own itinerary. you%26#39;d be able to follow your own sched and spend as much time in a place as you want. ciao! having a contact there to arrange everything for you will make it a lot easier. just give him ur budget and hel try to work out something for you.
