Zest Air Crash Landed

Does anyone know anything of this I got off the news: Fifteen people were injured when a landing Zest air plane hit a wall after it undershot the runway of the Caticlan airport in Aklan province around 7 a.m.,

Zest Air Crash Landed

I din`nt hear yet anything about it yet, but your informtion is correct: http://tinyurl.com/6u6bxj

Also: ';In the meantime, flights to and from Caticlan will continue to operate from Kalibo airport until further notice.';

Zest Air Crash Landed

From what I heard, Zest Air flight 865 landed short of the runway yesterday morning, lost control after blowing a tire on landing, and ended with its nose off the runway to the left in the grounds of the passenger lounge adjacent to the terminal building.

Various news articles report either 22 or 23 passengers on board the MA60 aircraft. I%26#39;ve heard from people who were on the scene that that one lady passenger ended up with a broken arm, and that there were a few other slight injuries. Some post-incident pictures can be seen at pprune.org/south-asia-far-east/357571-zest-a鈥?/a> Preliminary information can be seen at aviation-safety.net/database/record.php鈥?/a>

There have been two similar accidents with another airline, on 19 July 2005 and 2 November 2006. Apparently the runway has a raised lip, and aircraft landing short have a high probablility of bursting a tire on striking that lip after a short landing. See aviation-safety.net/database/record.php鈥?/a> and aviation-safety.net/database/record.php鈥?/a> for information on the previous similar accidents.

Bill, thanks for the update and interesting links ! One more photo here %26gt; http://tinyurl.com/9sq3kz

..thanks for the photo

...need to give more thought to my next airline choice

...this accident could have been much worse

Rob

some idiots even with this info. want to fly them to save money. What value is your life?

Some idiots had no idea Zest Air is such a poor choice! I%26#39;m flying them in 7 days and am now scared. Guess I better look up that cancellation policy...

Well if you are unable to cancel, the flight will add Zest to your life!

...in all fairness many visitors are not aware

...I did not read any posts prior to my first flight to Boracay

...depending on the airline you use you might want to consider cramming an inflatable rubber raft and a parachute into your carry-on bag

..flame retardant clothing although optional might also be a good idea...lol

Rob

Zest Air currently has new planes on their fleet, namely the Airbus 320 and those CHINESE made MA-60 turbo-props which just crashed. I wouldn%26#39;t mind riding the Airbus but those made in China planes were not even certified by the U.S. Federal Aviation

Administration!?! I wouldn%26#39;t buy a Chinese car what more riding a made in China plane.....

How about Chinese Chow Mein?
