Palawan Expensive ?

Hotel seems to be very expensive in Palawan and quality average for the price. We have seen a lot of hotels that cost more than 200$ per night( ) . 2-3 stars hotel seem to be tree times more then elsewhere.

We use to travel with a very low budget but this time we want to have nice beachfront room and spend less than 125 $ a day inclunding everything

Do we have a missperception ?

any suggestion for hotel in El Nido, puerto princessa, etc

Palawan Expensive ?

There are backpacker resorts and high end options in Palawan. What a lot of people don%26#39;t realize is that although Palawan seems to be just a strip of an island in the Philippines, its is subdivided into several areas/municipalities, and your choice of resort would depend on your selection of which area in Palawan.

There%26#39;s an ongoing promo in El Nido (Miniloc) right now for travel to April 04, 2009, that%26#39;s only Php13,000 for 3 days/2nights called the Turtle Tracking Promo. You might want to check it out by emailing them through their website (as I got the promo alert thru email). Doesnt include the airfare though, might want to check other inclusions if its the normal all inclusive package of El Nido. Come to think of it, Php 13,000 for 3 days/2 nights actually is about $270! Might want to check it out! http://www.elnidoresorts.com/

One helpful site is http://www.palawan.com/

On the left side of their home page is a listing of hotels and resorts divided into about 9 areas. All inclusive packages rarely exists in the smaller hotels though. (Honestly, I can%26#39;t recall having traveled to a beachfront resort in Palawan with a budget lower than $125 per day with an all inclusive package.) But you may still want to look out for promo rates following the links to their websites from the above mentioned site.

The El Nido and Cuyo area would have the more expensive resorts (and some backpacker inns too). So best to make a selection of your area to start with your selection of resorts.

Palawan Expensive ?

Thanks for the tips...

Regarding Maniloc promo does that include meals you think? I have seen a similar promo and meals were not included but mandatary so we had to ad 65 US$x 2 x 2 days plus transport from the airport 100$ each end up : 400$ a day for 2ιΆ…. which is for me very $$$

We will travel from Puerto P to El nido and spend approx. 6 days if you have accomodation te recommand please let us know

Well, I paid $800 for 3 nights in El Nido Miniloc and I would not begrudge a penny. Admittedly it was 12 years ago the last time I went and it included return airfare %26amp; full board but at the time it seemed reasonable.

You can do the whole thing for a whole lot less if you don`t mind compromising a little and are prepared to sacrifice a little luxury.

Have a browse around sites such as www.travelblog.org to get more of a backpackers perspective and ideas of cheaper deals for trips.

We just returned from El Nido and stayed at Marina Garden Beach Resort for around $40-$45 Canadian per night with Air Con and it was beachfront - we just did our Island hopping from there. It was great!

Where did you stay? Sounds too good to be true.

Never mind I see it is Marina Garden.
