Two Seasons vs Fridays vs Waling

Hi folks. Currently deciding on accomodation within the Station 1 area. Wll be stating for 5 nights in Boracay with my wife for a relaxing holiday. I%26#39;m tossing up between Two Seasons, Fridays and Waling Waling. As I understand it, these three resorts are all walking distance from each other, with the newest one among the three being Two Seasons. Appreciating that everyone looks for different criterias when booking a resort, I figured I%26#39;d share what we%26#39;re looking for:

1. Cleanliness of the rooms

2. Service

3. Value for money

4. Relaxed atmosphere, by that I mean availability of lounge chairs at the front of the resort :-)

Although highly recommended for their service, I%26#39;ve read a few negative comments about Fridays i.e. cleanliness of the rooms, bird droppings...etc. which has prompted me to look at other resorts.

As far as value for money, I heard Waling is pretty good, and a I guess Two Seasons comes in between offering new contemporary rooms available within the smallish lot on the beach.

Any tips appreciated. Thanks!

Two Seasons vs Fridays vs Waling

i can vouch for waling-waling, it has everything that you need. it%26#39;s also walking distance to d%26#39;mall where all the restaurants are. friday%26#39;s is too far away IMO.

waling has big rooms but they are not very new, service is great.

Two Seasons vs Fridays vs Waling

Fridays had some problems ith the old rooms, but in the meantime they are renovated. Fridays is a very nice place and fulfills all your conditions above. The same for Two Seasons, which has rather modern design, while Fridays has rather tropical-Boracay design. All of these places are quite expensive and for that money I rather stay at Fridays or Two Seasons.

Thanks for the tips guys. Has anyone stayed at Waling Waling who can comment on the quality and difference between their Deluxe Room and Premiere Suite? If we do stay at Waling, I wonder whether its worth upgrading to the best room they have?

Hey Bura, are you saying Fridays have renovated rooms as an alternative to the old ones?

Hi yojimbo...

My fiancée and I stayed at Friday%26#39;s for 12 nights at the end of August 2008. During that time we saw the inside of three rooms, and they were all very nice.

We noticed that they were renovating two rooms that are located near the steps that lead to the gate. I think that these two rooms would be classified as Premiere rooms due to their location.

Friday%26#39;s also started renovating their kitchen just after we left.

Judging by the reviews that we read here on Trip Advisor, Friday%26#39;s must have at least a room or two which need renovation. If that is true, I don%26#39;t know why the management would rent them out, as that would harm the resort%26#39;s reputation.

We never spoke with any of the guests who had any issues with their rooms. However, during the time that we were there, Friday%26#39;s was only half booked or so. Maybe when they are fully booked they end up renting rooms which need renovation.

Overall, Friday%26#39;s keeps their property spotless. They even keep their stretch of beach clean and well-groomed.

Their beach lounging area is very well situated too. We liked it better than any of the others on that stretch of beach. It is located away from the traffic area on the beach...very relaxing.

Have a great holiday in Boracay!

Hi Yojimbo! i just wanted to share that i had the same predicament as yours before i finally made confirmed booking at Waling-Waling this April..:) and in fact really zeroed in on those 3 resorts only before deciding.

I would really loved to stay at FRIDAYS for their awesome beachfront and lounge chairs but very pricey for my budget..:) WALING -WALING is next best for me, for its CABANAS,(style and privacy).. in a prime beachfront as well..with a very reasonable rate package at that..i was considering TWO SEASONS before Waling...due to its modern-look rooms, ...but then when i take a closer look at their beachfront area / and their version of Cabanas...imo, its too CRAMPED... So for now...its Waling-Waling for me...as we would be staying less in our room anyway and hangout at the beach and enjoy the view from the Cabanas :)

well, i hope i was able to share some insights to you! Can%26#39;t wait for summer........:) Enjoy!

thanks for all your tips guys, appreciate the feedback.

the other option i was thinking, just to throw it out there was to stay at pearl of pacific in their beach front rooms. how does this compare to waling waling?

lastly, how far is the walk from fridays back to d%26#39;mall?

apologies for the many questions. thanks in advance.

Hi yojimbo...

Friday%26#39;s to D%26#39;Mall:

%26gt; Walking time = 15 minutes

%26gt; Strolling time = 25 minutes

%26gt; Our time = 35+ minutes

These times are simply guesses, as my fiancee and I did not wear watches. We found that we were never in a hurry when we were on island, especially when we were on Boracay%26#39;s awesome White Beach.

There were times when we spent up to two hours going to D%26#39;Mall, or meandering home from there. We found that we were really very good at being busy doing nothing while we were on the beach.

Every time we went by Willy%26#39;s Rock, we were fascinated by it, and stopped to take photos.

We enjoyed watching the locals dig for white worms, which they eat raw while they drink beer.

During the late afternoon, the locals start building amazing sandcastles. At night, the sandcastles are candlelit. For a mere 20 pesos, the locals will take photos of you standing in front of their sandcastle.

There always seems to be a volleyball game going on.

There is no better place to enjoy a beautiful Filipino sunset than from the beach.

We also enjoyed assessing each hotel and property as we strolled by it.

yojimbo...the walk is not very far. After a day or two on the island, I doubt if you%26#39;ll even notice time and distance. We sure didn%26#39;t. Enjoy.

thanks jim_pangga for the great info!

from what i understand, based on the maps i%26#39;ve seen online, the walk from fridays back to station 1 will be on the beach, as the %26#39;beach street%26#39; doesn%26#39;t extend all the way to fridays, correct?

i%26#39;m just wonderng what to expect walking back to fridays on late nights after having drinner and drinks from other establishments closer to station 1/2.

thanks again!

Hi yojimbo...

You are correct. The path that parallels the beach does not extend all the way to Friday%26#39;s. The path disappears somewhere between Station 1 and Station 2. Even if it did extend all the way to Friday%26#39;s, you would find yourself walking along the beach instead. Why take the beach path when you can walk on the beach itself?

We nearly always walked on the beach rather than the path. We also enjoyed walking on the beach at night, and we always felt safe doing so. There will be other people out strolling. It%26#39;s really the best way to go to and from D%26#39;Mall (and beyond).

It is very easy to get sidetracked while you are strolling along the beach. There are any number of beachfront restaurants and bars where you will be tempted to stop in for a bite of food or the cold drink of your choice.

The beach is the way to go.

It%26#39;s paradise.
