Mito's Place--does anyone have any feedback?

I am planning a two week vacation to Boracay in August and I am still looking for a place to stay. I saw Mito%26#39;s Place web site...and their hotel looks nice. I like that it is on White Beach near Station 1, and it has ocean-view rooms which are in my price range. It also is closer to town than Lorenzo South. The rooms look very nice and the location is convenient. But I can not find any reviews of Mito%26#39;s Place. Is it in a fairly quiet location? Do they give good service? Are the rooms really as nice as they look on their web site? i would appreciate any info about Mito%26#39;s Place. Salamat...ingat ka...

Did you stay here?, the website makes it look really nice.

Mito's Place--does anyone have any feedback?

Hi Richard...We did not stay at Mito%26#39;s Place because we simply could not find any reviews or other information about it...other than their web site. Instead, we stayed all 12 nights at Friday%26#39;s Resort...and we are very happy that we did. We walked by Mito%26#39;s Place several times while strolling along White Beach, and we were relieved that we did not stay there. While their low-season price and their rooms were attractive on their web site, Mito%26#39;s is in a poor location, and their building was sandwiched in closely between other buildings in a busy area of Station 1/Station 2. They had a four meter tall wind screen erected between their building and the beach which obscured any view from their rooms. Worse, there was nowhere to enjoy the beach in front of Mito%26#39;s...they didn%26#39;t even have any beach chairs. Even if there were beach chairs, you would have been sitting right in the middle of all the beach traffic. In contrast, we found everything that we were looking for (except price) at Friday%26#39;s. The reviews of Friday%26#39;s does not do it justice. Friday%26#39;s has the best location on the island...the best beach...the best area to enjoy the beach...the best beach chairs...great service at all levels...a restaurant that will make you forget about going into town to eat...fun cultural shows at dinner on Monday and Friday...an easy stroll along the beach to go into town...or a quick tricycle ride on one of the tricycles that are always available at Friday%26#39;s gate. We stayed in a Premier room (#4...on the upper floor...near the beach...with a beach view from the veranda...a wonderful location). I travel for business occasionally in the U.S. and I am accustomed to staying at mid-price places like Holiday Inn Express, Comfort Inn, etc., at prices between $90-$150. Friday%26#39;s rooms easily reached this level of comfort and cleanliness, but I would not rate them at a five-star level. The rooms were fine for us. We were looking for a quiet and comfortable place to enjoy our honeymoon...and Friday%26#39;s was fabulous for us. Also, Friday%26#39;s will arrange any activity for you. Among other things, we enjoyed the banca tour around the island. The in-room massage has our highest recommendation. Of course, it all depends on what kind of experience you are looking for...and at what price. Mito%26#39;s would have been a big disappointment for us.

Thanks for the reply.

So it looks as though that ones off the list :-(

I%26#39;ll just keep looking I suppose. Fridays seems a bit above my budget, although it does look nice though.

%26#39;Boracay Beach Club%26#39; looks favourite at the moment, near to the beach, has a pool and about the right price, but I%26#39;m still trying to decide.

Hi again Richard...Did I forget to mention how romantic Friday%26#39;s is? Without a doubt, from our experience, it is the most romantic setting on the island. If you are looking for a great place for a honeymoon or a romantic getaway of any sort, it would be well worth your while to find it within your budget to stay at Friday%26#39;s for at least part of your vacation. They have low-season rates as well as some promos on their web site. It would be a shame to travel all the way to Boracay and not stay on the beach...it is just not the same experience. Also, we thought we would need a pool too...but once we were on the beach and took our first swim in the beautiful aqua water...that was it...no pool necessary. I will tell you that Friday%26#39;s was over our budget too, but we have absolutely no regrets, and would do it all over again. As for Boracay Beach Club, I would have to go back to the reviews in order to jog my memory of where it is located and what our impression of it was when we saw it in person...I%26#39;ll check with my wife too...she is better at remembering these things than I am. I%26#39;m sure that we ruled it out because it is not on the beach. Another thing that you need to be careful about regarding location is that many of the resorts (including those directly on the beach) are located on the road into town. Avoid these a places at all costs as the road is very noisy with tricycles, trucks, honking horns, etc. I realize that I sound like an ad for Friday%26#39;s, but we really enjoyed it. It was my first time to Boracay...and my wife%26#39;s third time (her first time at Friday%26#39;s).

I suggest Seawind or Pearl of the pacific which are also located at Station 1 but are much cheaper compared to Fridays. We passed by their resorts and there is less traffic compared to Station 2 and 3.

I remember Pearl give us a good discount when we inquired from them but we did not stay there because they dont have good reviews of their resort. If you are looking for a relaxing vacation, then choose a resort at Station 1 because the noise at Station 2 are really annoying especially at night....and there are less vendors at Station 1.

Me and my husband had a wonderful time at Fridays. We expected a rainy season when we went there last August..but we were blessed with good weather for all 12 nights of our stay there..it was a good surprise for our honeymoon. Also, it was good that we went there during low season because there are less people on the beach. The staff of Fridays also made sure that there are no vendors on there beach area and you will feel secure with the guards on duty 24 hours. We were able to appreciate this fact when we strolled to Station 2 and 3 and every minute, one vendor will approach you to sell anything, and I wonder if one can still relax with them around.

I can say that we really had a perfect honeymoon in boracay, perfect location, great food and very romantic setting..

Hi guys,

Why don%26#39;t you check out Two Seasons? It%26#39;s close to Fridays (that means its in a good location), is brand new (has modern minimalist architecture), and has a good restaurant. It%26#39;s about USD 150 / night but I think this will make it less expensive than Friday%26#39;s, depending on the time of year. It%26#39;s a lot smaller also than Friday%26#39;s (it%26#39;s a small boutique hotel), but that makes it good if you like watching crowds gathered in front of the beach in the afternoon.

If you want top notch accommodations then without a doubt Discovery Shores is the best choice. It%26#39;s big, brand new and definitely 5 star. Be prepared to shell out Usd 300 per night though. But if this is your honeymoon you%26#39;re planning then that will be money well spent.

Hey about Mito%26#39;s Place. This is a resort that you go to with the guys. Its decent, clean and the staff are friendly. The rates are cheap because it%26#39;s family owned. Its also brand new but of course its no Friday%26#39;s, Two SEasons nor Discovery Shores. We stayed in this place just to have a place to sleep, so for that I think Mito%26#39;s delivered.

Anyway, hope this piece helps. Good luck!
