what to do and where to stay in Puerto Princesa, Palawan

Hi i%26#39;m Del. I am now a resident of Puerto Princesa and been enjoying the place for quite sometime now. I may give suggestions to those who are planning to visit the Philippines%26#39; cleanest and greenest city on where to stay, what to do or what to see while here. Don%26#39;t hesitate to ask questions, i%26#39;ll be very glad to help and to give info the best that i can.

hi! my boyfriend and I are planning a trip to Palawan for 3 days/2 nights Nov. 29-Dec. 1. What is the cheapest way to spend a vacation there? and what do you recommend? is it better if we contact a travel agency? or will it be cheaper to just go there, find a good place to stay (with aircon and nice view; preferably a resort), and do fun activities. We are in a tight budget coz we are both students but we really would like to go and do something special for that long weekend. hope you can help us. i would really appreciate it.

Did you hear about any estuarine crocodile attacks on locals or scuba divers in the area? We want to check out the area pretty soon and also do some scuba but we heard that Philippines has a small population of salties. Thanks a lot.

Mabuhay and Aloha pisunkin,

There are salties in the Philippines, but further south. There is a croc farm in Princesa that has both Salties and the Philippine Croc. However, there are no salties in Puerto Princesa. There is a mega-saltie that ate an 11-year old girl two years ago at the southern tip of Palawan, a majestic and evil brute, but it will forever stay in the farm. The Mayor loves animals and when he heard the story he asked the mayor where the attack occured to not kill the saltie so he could take it in the farm.

1)I shall be in PP,sabang, cacnipa island, Port barton(maybe). Where being appropriate to learn beginner diving? Any recommendation of diver master/agency. Contact means?

2) Is bargaining NOT proper in Palawan? Is fixed price the mode of palawan?

3) Anyone looking for a couple to share the chartered boat fee to coconut garden resort (You maybe on your way to El Nido) on cacnipa island from Sabang on or about Jan 11-13. Email personally to me or write on these pages. Thx.

4) Any regular public transportation from San Vicente back to PP?

Hi Del!Im ryan from manila. Me and 4 of my friends are going to puerto princesa this jan 20, 2009 we still have not yet decided where to stay. We are not after the luxury of a hotel all we need is a decent and comfortable place to sleep at night in our 3 days stay because for sure we will be out most of the time enjoying the place for the rest of our stay. Can you suggest a place where we can stay that is cheap or reasonably priced. Please reply through my email at oliver0924@yahoo.com if you could also include suggestions on what to do or see in your place that would be very much appreciated. Hope to hear from you. Thanks

Hi Del

We are planning to come there in March this year. Family of 4 with children 11 and 13. Wanting a nice resort with beach and pool and easy access to other adventures. Any good suggestions are welcome

hi, del! we are a group of 5 going to PP on March 12-14, is there a place you recommend where we can stay? we%26#39;re on a tight budget and we%26#39;re looking for a nice but cheap place to stay, I want it to be near the city proper so we can just walk in the market. Our itinerary is: day 1 - arrival at 4 pm is to visit the market and walk in the near by place, 2nd day is to the UR and on the 3rd day our flight back to Manila, is there any other activities you can suggest considering the limited time we have?

you may reply to my email add at marygracecfrancisco@yahoo.com

thanks so much, i%26#39;ll greatly appreciate your advice. :)

Hi Del!@ we%26#39;ll be visiting PP this March, but i%26#39;m worried not to complete/enjoy much becoz of our limited time. we%26#39;ll be arriving @ 4:30pm (monday) and will leave @ 10:15am (wednesday). Can you give us advice on how can we spend and enjoy our trip with this limited time. Thanks! :-)

We find it not easy to plan a trip to El Nido cuz of the 8hrs boat ride from Coron to El Nido so we are re-working our itinerary. We booked flight out of Coron by Seair (while seats are still available) to Puerto Princesa. Now we have 14 days to plan an itinerary with Puerto P. as our base. We still want to go to El Nido. Fort Wally Shuttle Co. for 6 hrs seem to be interesting. How do we book this transport van. We have to reserve a day ahead?

We plan to go from El Nido to Port Barton and stay 3/4 days. Then from Port Barton, take the boat or bus (which is better?

We%26#39;d like to stay in Sabang also for a couple of nights.

Thanks for your suggestion.

Salamat ng marami guid ah!

guys, i would highly recommend staying in niko%26#39;s cabanas. my bf and i have gone to puerto princesa and stayed in niko%26#39;s twice [AUG. %26#39;07 AND NOV. %26#39;08]. we so loved palawan and so as niko%26#39;s cabanas. KINDLY CHECK THEIR WEBSITE: www.nikoscabanas.com .. they have a very reasonable price compared to other hotels or pensions. the staffs are so nice and very hospitable.

PM ME in YM: slash_joan if you have any questions about the place. I would be more willing to help =D KILALA NA KASI KAMI NUNG MANAGER DUN. HE EVEN LENT US THE RESORT%26#39;S VEHICLE LAST NOVEMBER 2008 WHEN WE WENT TO THE RESTAURANTS FOR DINNER. =D
