Weather during late wet season

Hello everyone

During my just completed stay in Thailand I got in contact with an experienced traveller. It was really great to talk with him and he spoke so good about the Philippines that I change my plans for my autumn travel. So I%26#39;ll head for the Philippines and not North East Thailand.

After we ended our talk I totally forgot to ask about the weather during the late wet season. My idea is to visit the islands for 3-4 weeks beginning mid September so how bad can the weather be? I%26#39;m not afraid of rain and have been in Thailand during the same period but it would be really bad if it rains all day and every day.

Thanks a lot for your input.

Weather during late wet season

It is difficult to predict what the weather will be in Sept; however it would be wet season in the Philippines.

During that time, typhoons are prevalent and you may catch one of those bad ones. Have you experienced a typhoon? It is an experience - provided you are on one of those better building structures. You don’t want to be out on the sea at that time. You can watch typhoon at the comfort of your hotel while sipping your local coffee or beer. That is not a promise as sometimes typhoons do come in Nov-Dec. It’s so unpredictable.

If you are comfortable with the rain, then the Philippines is a nice place to visit even on rainy days.

Thanks you Edwinic for your feedback and advice.

Regardless of the time of year, it is always hot and humid. Sometimes, it is more hot and humid! It is the tropics.

Even if you have a shower daily, it is usually just a brief downpour and then the sun comes out again.

Typhoons do and will occur. They are not bad for the most part, but the rain and wind may be present for a day or two and the severity can really vary. For most travelers it will be no more than an inconvenience. For the general population, however, it can be catastrophic with loss of property and, even, life.

It is part of traveling in the Philippines. Use common sense and roll with the punches and you will have a great experience.

that is accurate, roll with the punches

Thanks Goodpace for your quick detailed answer. By having your comments in mind I%26#39;m more safe to book tickets to Philippines in September-October.

Thanks guys.
