Bangkok to Manila

I was wondering if anyone has gone from Bangkok to Manila while visiting Thailand. If so, what would be the best(most affordable) way to do it? I looked up airfare and I%26#39;m getting 252 roundtrip in August -- does that sound about right?

I%26#39;m planning to fly from NY/NJ to Bangkok (stay for 3 days), fly to Manila (stay for 3 days), fly back to Bangkok and head to Phuket, phi phi island, chang mai/chang rai.... not sure if I should maybe fly out of Manila and go straight to Phuket instead of stopping at BKK -- need to figure out whats the most affordable/comfortable method.

Total trip lenght: 14 days.

Bangkok to Manila

I have flown twice from Bangkok to Manila.I find that the best way is to fly Cebu pacific.PhillipineAirways flies there too.I am flying in May and the flight is about 8000 baht which is about $230.

I%26#39;m not sure there is a direct flight from Manila to Phuket

Bangkok to Manila

there%26#39;s no direct flight from manila to phuket.

i find your trip quite exhausting, i%26#39;m not even sure manila is worth visiting given such a hectic schedule.

why not do thailand altogether first then fly back to NY from manila? this would reduce the flights you%26#39;ll need to take. but if you can%26#39;t afford more days for philippines, i don%26#39;t think skipping manila entirely would hurt considering the additional costs/flights it would require.

but if you decide to push through with it, cebu pacific may have the cheapest flights to BKK though they have tendencies to be delayed.

Hi,

do you just want to go to Manila? Not much to see there (except you want to head of to the islands). If you are going first time to Thailand, I think you should explore this country first and do Philippines on a seperat trip, as there are so many islands to see.

But if you want to go,252 sounds ok to me. Is it with Thai Airways? Check also Cebu Pacific and Philippine Airlines, as they might have some offers.

Take note that August is within the rainy season here. In Manila, heavy rains come with floods and traffic thus getting a cab will become more difficult.

But August could also be an opportunity for mid year sale if you are after shopping. (And off peak rates in beach destinations if you decide to stay longer)

So if ever you will push through with a Manila sidetrip, make sure you stay here at a hotel in a shopping and dining district.
