Makati

My friend from Belgium told me that he was surprized to see the amazing Makati Business District, MOA complex, Ortigas and Bonifacio area. He was hesitant to go to the Philippines because of the negative news he saw on print and tv before coming over.

He will definitely be back because he just saw Subic and wanted to see Boracay and the islands. He even said that the Phillipines is far far better than Thailand and Indonesia or even Malaysia. Do you agree?

My personal preference is the Philippines.

The one thing it lacks is a rail system, apart from Metro Manila%26#39;s three elevated metro-style lines.

Food in Phils. is excellent now: this was not true 17 years ago when I first visited.

Friendliness of Filipinos is oustanding and I personally feel very safe there. Of course in places like Quiapo (Manila) that are crowded, I wouldn%26#39;t take valuables or have a wallet stick out. Commonsense!

Internal air links in Phils. are far better than 17 years ago with Cebu Pacific not deserving the criticism some locals heap on it. Its punctuality seems better than Australia%26#39;s QANTAS (wouldn%26#39;t be hard, granted!)

I am happy to see that people are appreciating our country. I am based in Europe now and I must say that most of my friends did not know the Philippines before but some of them went there after hearing about it. They liked the Philippines a lot and would love to go back - with even more friends. It%26#39;s a pity that the Philippines is a bit far from here... would love to go home more. :)
