scuba diving in Cebu

We are a family of 5 planning on scuba diving in Cebu. The children are 11-14 yrs and we are newly certified. Is Oct a good time to go? Can you recommend a reputable dive place? Any particular dive site better for novices? I read on a forum that there is construction going on next to the Shangri La making it noisy to stay in the hotel-does anyone know if it%26#39;s still going on?

Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

There are a lot of dive sites in the island of Cebu. Some in Mactan Island. But the northern and southern part offers better places for divers and even for novices. Try to search ';Moalboal';, ';Malapascua Island'; and ';Apo Island';. Or you can check these websites, www.marinevillage.net and the www.tikitikidivers.com.
